Chapter 6- A baby?

Ivy's POV

I knew Luke was behind me before I heard him

speak. I took a deep breath and turned round to face him.

“Ivy is there something you need to tell me?” He asked, I thought I saw him look at my stomach but maybe I was just being paranoid.

“What do you mean?” I asked trying to look innocent but the unease came out in my voice.

“Are you...?” He trailed off pointing to my stomach.

“Am I what?” I asked.

“Are you pregnant?” He finally said to my disappointment.

“And what if I am?” I asked raising an eyebrow.

“Are you?” He said I could hear the hint of annoyance in his voice.

“I...I...” I stuttered, he wasn’t going to react well, I didn’t know what to say.

Annoyed he turned away from me and started to walk toward the front door.

“I’m pregnant.” I finally got the words out of my mouth.

He just froze in place for a moment and then with a shake of his head he walked out the front door.

Luke’s POV

I can’t believe she’d do this to me. Was she just trying to mess my life up? This thing, or baby, whatever it is, is just going to complicate everything. I should never have let that girl move into my house. What did she expect to gain from getting pregnant? I wasn’t about to suddenly change and be all happy about having a child.

Ivy’s POV

A few days passed, Luke was giving me the silent

treatment. If he was home he watched TV, the rest of the time he worked.

But today he actually spoke to me.

“So what do you want to do about it?” He asked.

“About what?” I asked surprised.

“The baby.” He said cringing.

“Well I’ve been thinking.” I replied.

“What about?” He asked.

Then with all the courage I could gather I got down on one knee and I asked him to marry me.
